These are two-piece louvered shutters that attach to the wall beside each window. They fold together to protect the window.

COLONIAL SHUTTER PROS:

• Are permanently affixed beside the windows and don't require any extra storage space.
• Can be made storm-ready by one person.
• Are decorative; they can beautify as well as protect your home.

COLONIAL SHUTTER CONS:

• Require a storm bar for angle brackets to lock the shutters into place. This can increase deployment time.
• Can't be used to protect doors, and if the window is rather large, the colonial shutters may be thick.
